Today I will talk about why and how I moved to Finland

Finland is a lovely country with beautiful nature. Finland is very similar to Estonia but in the other hand completely different. More about that next time

My family thought about moving to Finland years ago.
Because of that, I took my first Finnish courses when I was 10, in Tartu.
2011 my family finally moved to Ulvila, a small town couple of kilometers away from Pori.
Pori is the capital city of Satakunta and 5th largest city in Finland. I finished 9th class in Tartu and joined with my family in the beginning of the summer. I wanted to support my family, get exchange experience and gather money for my year in Australia.
I started looking schools around Pori area in the beginning of 2011. I visited almost all of the schools and every one of them accepted me. My plan was to live one year here and study the first high school form.
TTG accepted this option and the year in Finland will be accounted. I will continue in the 11th form so
I don't have to repeat the year.
School in Estonia starts in the 1st September compared to 15th August in Finland.
Wednesday I will move back to Tartu and the following posts will be multilingual (Estonian and English)
So I could say I am pretty excited :)

Hei!

For the past year I have been studying in Finland. In a couple weeks I will return to an Estonian town called Tartu and continue my studies in my hometown. In January 2013 I will leave for Australia to do an exchange year. I do not know my host family yet but hopefully I will get the information soon :)
I am a hobby photographer. Here you can see some of the photos I have taken.

You can see more of my artwork here

In the meantime I will tell you about my year in Finland. The differences between two similar cultures. And how the journey to becoming a YFU exchange student has been.
